Shekar Sivasubramanian has close to 40 years of experience managing large, complex organizations in the technology and business sectors. Over the course of his career, he has taken multiple companies from inception to billion-dollar valuations in the stock market. He currently leads as the Head of Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence, with a team of 250+ talented professionals driving large-scale AI deployments in agriculture, health, education to benefit the underserved. His current mission is to bring AI to a billion people and beyond.
Shekar holds a Bachelor’s degree from IIT Bombay, an MBA from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and has a long-standing research association with Carnegie Mellon University in information retrieval and language technologies. He continues to maintain his programming skills and actively engages with the technical aspects of his work.
