Enterprise Investigations Director, The New York Times

Malachy Browne is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist with The New York Times where he co-founded the Visual Investigations team. He specializes in reporting that combines traditional approaches with the analysis of digital and visual evidence in accountability journalism. He has covered a wide range of topics including the Israel-Gaza conflict, Sudan’s civil war, Russian atrocities in Ukraine and Syria, the U.S. Capitol riot, and police killings in the U.S. This teamwork has been cited in murder trials, congressional hearings and U.N. Security Council meetings, and it has triggered government inquiries.  

This teamwork has been recognized with several awards including Pulitzers, Emmys, a Peabody, duPonts and George Polk Awards. Prior to joining The Times, Malachy worked at First Look Media, Storyful and Village Magazine in Ireland. He is from Broadford, Co. Limerick.
