Sinéad Fitzmaurice was the first female CEO to scale an Irish tech company to unicorn status. Being part of the leadership team of TransferMate since its inception, initially as CFO and then CEO until June 2025, Sinéad has strategically structured the business to establish the largest and most secure cross-border payments network from the ground up.
Continuously diversifying the business, under Sinéad’s award-winning leadership, TransferMate has built a network of strategic partners globally across multiple verticals including Wells Fargo, ING, Coupa, SAP Concur, Harvard University and most recently Amazon.
Sinéad was the driving force behind TransferMate’s global regulatory license build and approval project across Europe, UK, Australasia, East and Southeast Asia, Canada and the USA, State by State. Her responsibilities spanned strategically driving TransferMate’s global scale, its global workforce and partnership distribution network whilst maintaining one of the industry’s widest regulatory footprints spanning in excess of 100 licenses.
