Liz Shanahan

Entrepreneur, Chair, Non-Executive Director, Adjunct Professor

Liz Shanahan is a life sciences entrepreneur with extensive experience advising leading global pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations including the World Economic Forum, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, and the NHS. She is a serial investor and entrepreneur with a long list of accolades to her name including being Chair of Akusus Group (Waterford based) which includes companies RelateCare and Rigneydolphin. Both companies deliver value-adding consulting and outsourcing services with RelateCare specialising in the healthcare sector. Liz is also on the Board of a number of other listed and private companies; is a co-founder of Kingdom Therapeutics, a business focussed on autism; a Director & Trustee of a hospital charity, CWPlus, the charitable arm of Chelsea & Westminster Foundation Trust Hospital in London and a member of the organisation’s Innovations Advisory Board; and an Adjunct Professor and Entrepreneur in Residence at University College Cork.  Previously, she was Chair of the Irish International Business Network, she was a Non-Executive Director of the FTSE250 business, UDG PLC, which was acquired by CD&R in 2021 for £2.6bn and Global Head of Healthcare & Lifesciences at the NYSE-listed management consultancy, FTI Consulting Inc, who had acquired her very successful consultancy business.

Liz has a degree in Computer Programming & Maths from University College Cork, and she is an alumnus of the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. She divides her time between Kerry & London.
