Breandán Fitzgerald has served as a Kerry County Councillor since 2019 and was elected as the Cathaoirleach (Chairperson) of Kerry County Council in June 2024, a role that sees him champion the region on both a local and international stage. Rooted in Corca Dhuibhne community in west Kerry, Breandán has a deep understanding of Kerry’s unique strengths – its vibrant culture, stunning natural beauty, and it’s growing economic potential.
In his capacity as Cathaoirleach, Breandán is a passionate advocate for the Irish language, sustainable development and fostering a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
