Benjamin Djoudalbaye

Head of Policy and Health Diplomacy, Africa CDC

Dr Benjamin Djoudalbaye is a Senior Health Expert MD, MSc. MPH, Pg. Dipl. Infectious Diseases. He has over 20 years of experience in global health with extensive expertise in the African context, focusing on designing, managing, and evaluating Public Health programs.

He is the Head of Policy and Health Diplomacy at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. In May 2020, Dr Djoudalbaye was appointed Executive Secretary of the African Union COVID-19 Response Fund. He oversees the implementation of various health initiatives and policies to improve the health and well-being of the African population.

He successfully managed significant programs, including proven ability to set a clear vision, lead diverse teams, mentor/inspire others toward accomplishing goals, possess excellent negotiation skills, experience with complex, high profile, or sensitive agreements, and recruit supporting and leading senior staff.

Dr Djoudalbaye is the author and co-author of several peer-reviewed scientific articles and has published a book on psychiatry.
