Maura Kelly | Purple Mountain Media
Maura Kelly is an advisor, marketing executive, and multiple Emmy award-winning producer, with a passion for social entrepreneurship. Through Purple Mountain Media, she helps creators and organizations develop and launch program initiatives that leverage strategy and creativity, foster partnerships and community engagement.
Her career spans leadership positions in broadcast television at PBS/WNET Group where she built successful media franchises and helped raise millions for programs and EdTech initiatives – to working with top-tier media companies, like the Jim Henson Co., National Geographic, Tribeca Film Institute – and corporate partners (Toyota, Intel, Cisco) to government agencies (US Dept of ED, National Science Foundation, America’s Service Commissions). Her nonprofit work with the Helping Other People Foundation includes field trips to Ethiopia and Peru to evaluate grantee programs. Maura began her career in Wall Street in financial services and corporate television, while freelancing at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Active in Irish diaspora initiatives, Maura is a Board Director of the American Irish Historical Society founded in 1897. Notable members have included: US President Theodore Roosevelt, George M. Cohan and Mary Higgins Clark. She has spearheaded important community projects as Director of the LEAP Leadership Program, funded by the DFA to promote Irish women in business. Maura is a Board Advisor of EDsnaps, a nonprofit that introduces girls to STEM careers. She has a Master’s degree in Media Arts from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) where she was also a lecturer. Born in Killarney, Kerry, Maura lives in New York City with her husband.
