Jim Sheridan is the six-time Oscar-nominated Director, writer and producer of iconic Irish films, including My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father, The Field, The Boxer and In America. Born in Dublin, he studied at UCD and New York’s Tisch School of the Arts.
He has directed leading international Actors including Daniel Day-Lewis, Richard Harris, John Hurt, Daniel Craig, Emma Thompson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Tobey Maguire, Rachel Weisz, Rooney Mara, Sam Shepard, Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, Brian Cox, Samantha Morton, 50 Cent, Brenda Fricker andVanessa Redgrave.
His other films include Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Secret Scripture. He recently directed and hosted Sky’s hit doc series Murder at the Cottage, and will tackle that story again in upcoming miniseries In Absentia starring Vicky Krieps. He is also in development on a Native American project Standing Bear, which he will co-direct with Andrew Troy.
